Real Madrid is out to buy trophies and rule Europe. And sure, they'll sell 100 zillion jerseys (did you get yours?). But at this point, do you think super teams are out of control with astronomical transfer fees and what is going to happen with smaller clubs??

... Real will be fun to watch, as they always are - more so now with Ronaldo and Kaka! But are they a "team?" Do they need to be a team to win Europe? Or can they just outscore the opposition? A good article by John Leicester, AP: Even Ronaldo is replaceable |

... It is becoming all about the ego of owners. who has the most money to buy the best players. it's basically a pissing match between clubs. The sad thing is that youth teams in the native country are being affected. These clubs are buying up big talent overseas and exporting the local talent. Not always, but at a rate that it is affecting the culture of futbol in various countries. Look at Chelsea. Abramovich has spent 100's of millions and zero in uefa. Ronnie and kaka at least you speak the same language. And I don't Portuguese! Evil skank! |

... Real will definitely be better, but I don't understand why they are going after Ribbery and Villa when they should now focus on making their defense solid as well. I also believe there should be a limit on how much a team can spend. It seems like the German, Italian, and French leagues are getting all there good players stolen by the EPL and La Liga. Which makes the Champions league boring, because the last couple years its been an all English/Spanish quarter finals. |

... 5-0 games are terrible for viewership. I mean watching a couple of the best players on Earth do their magic is a nice thing to behold, but the drama of the match, the one thing that soccer is all about - the real battle for goals - is a bit thin with ALL-GALAXY teams. |
